A look at the new Rideau Centre addition and the pedestrian plaza on Nicholas Street. The addition was built as part of a $360 Rideau Centre Expansion project.
Original concept design from B+H Architects and BBB Architects:
The Rideau addition was built in place of the old Ogilvy building, that was demolished in 2013 to make room for the addition. Nice to see a design that chooses to pay homage to the history of the location, rather than attempting to impose itself on its surroundings. The original building can be seen on Street View by rewinding back the "image clock".
